Year 7 September 2027 Admissions

The application period for Year 7 September 2027 admissions is now open.  To apply for a school place, please complete the Admissions Application Form on our online platform, Applicaa.

Follow this link to create an account and complete your application: Apply here for a place in Year 7

You can make an application under the following categories; you may only apply in one category.

-          EHCP (you can apply via Applicaa but these are only allocated via the Local Authority);

-          Looked after or previously looked after children;

-          Children with Social and Medical needs;

-          Local Community;

-          Religious Affiliation.

All the details of these categories and other relevant information can be found in our policy at the bottom of the page.

If you have applied under the category of ‘Religious Affiliation’, you must provide details of a faith leader who can confirm your attendance at their place of worship.  Please talk to them and let them know you are applying so they are prepared to complete the Faith Leader reference.  A list of recognised faith communities is in detailed in our policy.

Once you have registered with Applicaa, applications can be started and completed at a later date.  Please ensure you have completed all parts of the Admissions Application Form and submitted your form.  The application status on Applicaa will then show as 'Completed'.

You must also complete and submit your local authority form via their portal.

The deadline for completing both forms is Saturday 31st October at 11:59pm.  Any application received after this time will be processed as a late application.

Open Events 2026

As you consider your choice of secondary school, we warmly invite you to attend an Open Event at Bishop Stopford School in October. We know this is an exciting time, but also one which needs careful consideration. Our events will provide you with the information you need to help you to come to a well informed decision about choosing the right school for your child next year.

Open Mornings: Monday 5, Tuesday 6 or Wednesday 7 October: 9.45am – 11.45am

Open Mornings enable you to see a normal school day in progress.  You are welcome to attend with your child.  The morning will begin with a presentation from the Headteacher and students before visits to Key Stage 3 lessons and a tour of our site. Pre-booking for an Open Morning visit is essential as places are limited.

**Click here to complete the booking form and secure a place**

We can only accommodate disabled visitors’ parking on our site for Open Mornings. If you are coming by car, do not park lower down the Headlands than Glebe Avenue and walk to school. This will take approximately 5 minutes.

Open Evening: Thursday 8 October 2026: 5.30pm – 8.00pm

Our Open Evening gives you an opportunity to meet students and staff and explore all areas of the school site. You are welcome to attend, even if you have visited on one of our Open Mornings.

No booking is required.  Families are welcome to arrive throughout the Open Evening and tour the site; there will be the two presentations from the Headteacher and students at 5:45pm and 6:30pm.

We anticipate over 1000 visitors. To manage this, parking on the Headlands will be unavailable in the vicinity of the school: cones will be in place. Parking for Open Evening is located at the Cornmarket car park on London Road (Postcode NN15 7QA). A bus will then transport you to and from school. Both parking and buses are free. Buses will run every 20 minutes from 5.10pm.
