A Level Results Day 2026
The tradition of great A Level results at Bishop Stopford School has continued today.
Results are above all national indicators and almost a third of grades awarded were at A and A*.
Delighted students have been able to move on successfully to the next stage because of their results after two years of incredibly hard work.
32 students had particular reason to celebrate, achieving at least three A or A* grades in their results.
Of those, 7 achieved A* in all of their entries. And for 5, the icing on the cake was to secure places at Oxford and Cambridge. This continues a long-established pattern of success in gaining places at these highly competitive and prestigious universities.
Leila Abdul Salam was delighted with her results. She will now go on to read Law with Italian Law at Oxford, saying: “I am happy that all of my hard work paid off and thankful to all my teachers who helped me get here.”
Students shared their excitement at what this now means for them. Most will go on to study at their first choice universities, and a number have secured places for highly competitive degree apprenticeships, including civil engineering, security and defence and metallics at Silverstone. The breadth of undergraduate courses being taken up reflects the careful work the Sixth Form team put in to ensure students consider all options for their next steps - both in the UK and internationally.
Headteacher, Jill Silverthorne, said: “While outstanding grades will always grab headlines, we are proud of each student’s achievements today. Everyone has achieved something significant because of their hard work, resilience and ambition: I am immensely proud of them all.
”I want to thank staff for their unwavering diligence in preparing students so well and to students for responding to the provisions we have made for them. This isn’t only excellent teaching, but carefully planned support in a myriad of other ways which leads to such consistent success. This is a day for the whole community to celebrate and to look forward to the future for our amazing A Level students with confidence.”
Brannon Bird’s parents were delighted with his results. Mrs Bird said: “My son joined Bishop Stopford for A-Levels and just flowered when he came here. He has enjoyed the friendliness of the teachers and the quality of the teaching has been amazing.
“He’s loved coming to school every single day. It’s a great day for him today, as he has secured his place at university in London to study Music, which is his lifelong dream. We can’t thank Bishop Stopford enough for all their input over the last two years.”
Everyone at Bishop Stopford School extends warmest congratulations to every student and we look forward to following their ongoing success as they leave us today for the final time.
