The PE curriculum at Bishop Stopford is structured to provide a broad experience for students to foster lifelong participation in physical activity, and develop physically, mentally and personally.  They will learn about and through physical activity and will be prepared for a life of active participation, whilst enjoying the benefits to health and well-being of regular

Major games taught include, rugby, football, hockey, netball, basketball, cricket and rounders. Other activities included in the programme are gymnastics, dance, fitness/SAQ, handball, tennis, badminton, cheerleading, body toning, indoor rowing, volleyball, table tennis, dodgeball and athletics.

Bishop Stopford's facilities include a full size sports hall, 4 badminton courts, basketball courts, cricket nets, gymnasium, 6 tennis courts, five netball courts, rugby and football pitches, a dance studio, multi-use games area and a full-size, sand-based Astroturf.

All year groups in Key Stages 3 and 4 have 2 hours of Physical Education a week.  In Year 10, students have the opportunity to opt to study GCSE Physical Education (AQA).  In Year 12 students have the chance to study A Level PE (AQA), which is examined in Year 13.
