At Bishop Stopford, Humanities is a large and high performing Faculty comprising of History, Geography and Religious Education. Staff work collaboratively to develop innovative practice in all aspects of teaching and learning.
The Head of Faculty co-ordinates the teaching and learning across the faculty, while Heads of Subject are responsible for the individual departments. The teaching team is well established, with a number of staff holding additional responsibilities for pastoral, cross-curricular and whole-school roles.
The results of the Faculty in public examinations are extremely good. Routinely, all departments achieve positive value added at Key Stage Four and there are outstanding results at Key Stage Five. There is a strong commitment to improve this performance even further.
