Year 7 Admissions Policy Consultation

The Academy are consulting on changes to their Admissions Policy for Year 7 intake 2027.  The proposed changes are:

1) Introduction of a ‘local community’ category of entry for up to 4 students, ranked by distance from school.  This would enable students from the local area to apply, even if they do not have a faith affiliation.

2) Prioritisation of staff children in categories 3 (Social and Medical Needs), 4 (Local Community) and 5 (Religious Affiliation) (who have been working at the school continuously for more than 2 years in permanent roles.)

3) Changes to the faith communities to reflect the removal of the interfaith network. This has been updated to reflect the national census data.  In addition, there is a broadening for church communities to include the opportunity for churches who are part of other networks which provide financial, spiritual and safeguarding accountability measures, and independent churches, to apply to be on the Academy’s list of faith communities.
