Summer Activity Club
At Bishop Stopford Community Sports Centre we aim to involve as many children as possible and in order to do this we offer a range of different sports and cater for children of all abilities.
The number of spaces on the morning sessions is limited and therefore it is advisable to book in advance as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please make sure that whether you book by post, phone or e-mail we have all the relevant details, medical or otherwise.
About The Club
The Community Sports Centre at Bishop Stopford School was funded by the National Lottery and opened in 1999 to coincide with the employment of a Community Sports Development Officer. To make full use of the facilities during the school holidays an activity club for children between the ages of 8 –14 was opened.
The activity club is now thriving with over 100 regular participants of varying abilities in the different sports that we offer.
A number of children after attending our sessions have gone on to participate at club and county levels. This has come through good identification of talent and our links to club and county personnel in many sports.
The now well developed sports centre offers a morning of sports activities followed by fun afternoon sessions in a controlled, safe and enjoyable environment. The sessions are aimed at both girls and boys aged 8– 14 years old and are run by fully qualified and insured staff.
The afternoons at the club are spent participating in non–sport-specific activities which are supervised by a team of staff who are insured and first aid qualified.
Each activity is run in a challenging way and will include different types of games in order to involve all of the children. All staff are qualified to the relevant National Governing Body standards and will be supervised by the Community Sports Centre Manager

The school system is being upgraded during the first two weeks of the holiday(26th to 6th Aug) so any email sent during this time will not be received until after the 6th Aug. During this time it will be better to book via the phone.
