Eclipse

The library housekeeping is all processed through specialist software called 'Eclipse' from Microlibrarian. Students can search the library catalogue from any computer in the school allowing them to view the titles of everything in the library collection. It is also available for smart phone/tablets through an APP and through the VLE platform.

Membership

All staff and students are members of the library and able to borrow resources. Biometric sensors allow us to use fingerprints to recognise individuals rather than membership cards. This information is converted and stored on the data base as a mathematical code. If anyone would rather have a membership card this can be arranged.

Student Librarians

Student help is vital in running the library. Students volunteer to assist in a variety of ways from producing displays to helping run the library desk. To find out more come to the library!

Year 7 Library Lessons

Year 7 students are timetabled to have a lesson in the library every fortnight throughout their entire first year. Library and study skills are taught, reading for pleasure promoted and time given for students to enjoy all aspects of the library.
