Studying away from the classroom is an important way to reinforce learning.
As a school we place enormous value on homework and believe its purpose is to:
- Engender a love of learning and pique interest
- Enable students to develop good habits; independence, responsibility, organisation and commitment
- Support students to increase knowledge and develop skills
- Strengthen the home-school relationship by providing parents an opportunity to engage with the curriculum studied by their child

Key Information
- Homework will be set on Edulink.
- Teachers will, wherever possible, spend time explaining the homework set in lessons.
- How subjects set homework will differ, as one model is not the optimal learning approach for all. So, for example, some subjects will set homework weekly; others may adopt a different approach. This will be shared in the Curriculum Booklets (see link below).
To support students with homework:
- The school library is open at lunchtimes and students can complete homework there.
