The Curriculum

The curriculum outlines linked to on the left amount to the formal teaching programme, which we trust will lead to enjoyable and meaningful learning. Students, of course, learn more than can ever be listed in a booklet. Social skills and positive attitudes to life-long learning form an important part of what we aim to develop at Bishop Stopford. A wide range of extra curricular activities also complements the planned timetable of lessons for all students.

Homework is a vital extension of the curriculum offered at school, and is designed to nurture self-discipline and self-reliance in learning and often consolidates, or extends, topics covered in the classroom. Success in GCSE examinations is reliant upon the effective and systematic completion of homework. A copy of the homework timetable is reproduced on the back page of each booklet.
